The Florida Keys

Because of its proximity to the Gulf Stream and the Gulf of Mexico, the Florida Keys have a mild tropical climate. Situated between the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, the Florida Keys' unique geographical location benefits from ocean breezes that keep temperatures moderate year-round. From Key Largo to Key West the Florida Keys have an average high temperature of 82 degrees Fahrenheit with overnight lows averaging around 74 degrees. Our reef system is the third largest in the world with water temperatures ranging from the low 70's in winter to 90's in the summer. Rainfall in winter is usually less than 2 inches per month-summer 4 to 5 inches.
